Stop trying to fit in! Embrace your own individual style.

We have now officially entered into the cold months of the year. Right now, in Sydney, it's 7 degrees Celsius and it's the middle of winter. Winter has officially arrived!!!

I don't know about you but in Australia, we are currently near the end of our financial year. This only means it's SALE time! This is probably my most favourite time out of the year. Why? Hot chocolates, cuddles, warm winter clothes and jackets. I love the winter fashion, especially trend pieces each year and a new staple piece I need to have to beat the cold this year.

This year my individual style had changed and maybe for the better? I feel much more confident and true self. Usually, I would dress to fit into the crowd or 'trends', not runway trends. I'm talking about what is everyone else is wearing around you. Where I live, my suburb is much more of a laid-back hipster and street style vibe. I feel most confident in my fashion right now, which is basic key pieces and dress them up with staple pieces.

As you may have seen my previous post, my favourite brand at the moment is Witchery Fashion. Why? They have amazing key pieces and never seem to have failed me. My other favourites are Zara, top shop and country road fashion.

The fashion trends I've seen all over the streets and on social media is 'activewear'. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy wearing my comfy cotton leggings and my basic tank top. However, more and more people are choosing the wear activewear rather than normal fashion. There was a stage in my life where I did not feel comfortable wearing a basic tee and paired with basic shoes. Instead, I would opt for my active wear, this way I felt I had put an effort into the day. This year I made a pact with myself to try to make more of an effort in the morning.

You don't need to follow the fashion 'trends' to fit in. Simply just dress the way you feel more confident in, if that's your active wear or a basic tee and jeans.. go for it!

Let me know below in the comments if there have been any fashion trends you fell into and but you truly didn't feel like this was your style?
