Review: Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Highlighting Palette Vol. III

Good Morning lovelies! I hope you all are having a great Monday or Sunday, where ever you are in the world. Today I am reviewing the new Tarte Rainforest of the Sea highlighting Vol. III Palette. My first initial thoughts on the palette are how beautiful the shade selection is. My go-to makeup look is always a bronzey eye makeup look and this palette is perfect. Tarte expresses this as a cream powder 8 eyeshadow shades. They claim this can be used without a primer and vegan. This retails for around $47 AUD on the official tarte website.

My first impressions on the palette were how stunning the shade selection is and one matte eyeshadow shade. Don't get me wrong I love the matte shade, it's the perfect shade for the crease. However, I needed another darker matte to blend with the current matte. To achieve a 'natural' highlight look, use a brush to apply the eyeshadow. I found applying with a brush made the eyeshadow look more natural rather than foiled, which people may think it's not that pigmented. If you use MAC fix plus or a setting spray, holy molly these apply like a dream! I was shocked how pigmented and they stuck to the eye like a dream. They blend together like a dream and I can't get over the shade 'treasure' how beautiful it looks on the browbone and inner corner.

Pigmentation: Average if applied with an eyeshadow brush. Super pigmented if applied with your finger or a wet makeup brush.

Wear: If applied with a wet makeup brush these last like a dream on the eyes.

Texture: Depending on how you apply the eyeshadow to the eyes. For a pigmented foil look, please use a wet eyeshadow brush. For a more natural look just use the brush on its own.

Application: Best to apply to the eyes with a wet eyeshadow brush.

Swatches below:
(shade names from left to right)

treasure (pearlescent), escape (nude pink luster), tiki (matte beige), heat wave (pink luster), malibu (plum bronze), rays (peachy copper), compass (champagne), jewel (copper).
